I've added links to various blogs by Olympians, or those assisting the athletes. I figured it's a different way to enjoy the Games, so why not share? It MAY be a problem, however, because of the censorship thing in China. Time will tell (some bloggers have already mentioned these issues).
The blogs do span a number of sports, but I admit the list is mostly for those in the equestrian events. As I come across more sports and blogs, I'll add them to the list.
In case anyone is wondering, Beezie's is my favorite. I love her. I aspire to her. And her mount, Authentic, is my favorite jumper out there. I really love him! So, while I cheer for the whole team, my obvious affection for the show jumpers shines through. And I cheer loudest for Authentic and Beezie.....

Not a single gymnast in the bunch...very sad! You'd be amazed at how many hours I spend watching diving and swimming and track and field just to catch the gymnastics that tends to fall somewhere in the middle of all that coverage. I'll pay attention to the equestrian events as well.
Oh, I agree! Some of my best memories, actually, are of attending the meets at the U with my dad.
I'm still looking for a gymnast, pool swimmer, and diver. Actually, runner or field event athlete would be nice to find, too....but they're hiding!
That is so funny that you mention going to the U of U meets. I was trying to convince Corbie to get season tickets with me!
In my search to find some blogs for you, I discovered that the Olympic Committee has decided not to let the athletes post blogs, but it would seem to be limited to gymnasts since you found plenty of blogs from other sports.
those were special father-daughter date nights, and I loved them. :) Good luck getting tickets!
Is it hard to get tickets? Clearly I haven't thought this through beyond deciding it was a good idea and identifying people who might want to go with me, because, in case you were wondering, Steve would prefer a root canal. He'll endure figure skating, but gymnastics just doesn't make the short list. Just like I refuse to watch the 'World Poker Tour' or re-runs of 'Seinfeld.' Maybe your dad is interested?
I don't think tickets are difficult...I don't know! I feel the same about the poker tour and Seinfeld re-runs. The former is a common feeling and never shows around here. The other has been known to cause arguments :)
I can ask my dad if you'd like :)
Oh my gosh...have I found one other person on this planet who doesn't think that 'Seinfeld' was God's gift to network television?
I thought it was kind of funny when it first came out, but it very quickly became extremely annoying to me. It's still annoying.
I feel so comforted. There is only one 'Seinfeld' episode that I really thought was funny (the one when Jerry steals the marble rye bread and Kramer is driving the horse drawn carriage), and it was only funny the first time. After that it kind of lost it's charm. There are a few other episodes that had funny parts, like 'muffin tops' and the 'soup nazi.' Steve watches the re-runs all the time and it is to the point where just hearing the voices of the characters makes me want to vomit. If hear how successful the show was or how the network offered Jerry oodles of money to continue one more time I will vomit.
Oh yay! We can vomit together!! We must be the only 2 people on the face of the earth who feel this way. Maybe we're just the smartest?
Absolutely...I second that :)
